We have an chance for an experienced Pacific Labour Manager to lead the day-to-day management of Costa’s direct-hire workforce engaged through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme across our Berry operations. Based in Corindi, NSW, this is a hands-on role with responsibility for worker welfare and wellbeing, mobilisation, accommodation, transport and compliance.

About the role

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will oversee the delivery of Costa’s Berry PALM program. You will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure arrangements are well coordinated and workers receive welfare and wellbeing support. Responsibilities include:

- Lead the day-to-day governance and coordination of Costa’s Berry PALM program
- Coach and support Welfare and Wellbeing Officers and build consistent practice across the regions
- Coordinate worker arrivals, departures, transfers and redeployments with internal teams and service providers
- Oversee worker welfare, wellbeing, accommodation, transport and provider performance
- Manage critical incidents and sensitive worker matters




- Partner with Human Resources on performance matters, investigations and employee relations processes
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for regulatory requirements, audits and internal assurance

What you’ll bring

- Experience managing a PALM, seasonal worker, labour mobility, employee welfare or comparable workforce program
- Experience leading sensitive employee matters, performance processes, investigations or critical incidents
- A culturally responsive approach and the ability to communicate across language and literacy differences
- Sound knowledge of compliance, reporting, audit evidence and record-keeping requirements
- Strong relationship building skills and the ability to work across operational and corporate teams
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, trackers, reports and business systems
- A current driver licence and the ability to travel between regional locations

A relevant tertiary qualification in human resources, employee relations, community services, social sciences, business or a related discipline will be well regarded. First aid, mental health awareness, workplace investigation or incident management training is also desirable, with a willingness to attain relevant training where required.

Other information

This is a multi-region role requiring travel across Costa’s Berry locations. Flexibility is also required to support worker arrivals, seasonal demands and urgent matters outside standard business hours, including weekends and public holidays.
