About the role
This 12-month fixed-term role is a hands-on, field-based prospect responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and productive delivery of maintenance works across our Queensland road network.

Based out of our Clarence Road office, you will spend the majority of your time on-site, acting as a key link between Transurban and our core maintenance contractor. As such, it requires a self-starter who can work autonomously and has the willingness and flexibility to support our 24/7 network operations, which includes regular attendance at night maintenance closures. This is a crucial role for maintaining the quality and safety of our assets and requires someone with a proactive, collaborative approach to managing contractor performance.

Day-to-day, you will:

- Conduct regular on-site inspections across the road network to identify, assess, and report on asset conditions and maintenance defects.
- Manage the end-to-end work order process in our asset management system (Maximo), from raising work orders to ensuring works are completed to the required safety and quality standards.
- Develop a strong, collaborative partnership with our core maintenance contractor, working with them to find the best solutions and ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Provide quality assurance on maintenance activities by conducting on-site safety checks, reviewing job plans, and verifying compliance with Transurban's standards.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

- Must have a strong background (e.g., 5+ years) in a hands-on civil, roads, or utilities environment,

bringing a strong practical understanding of road construction and maintenance activities, particularly asphalt works, line marking, and civil repairs.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset. You excel at building relationships and prefer to work with partners to solve problems, rather than simply pointing out faults.
- The ability to work autonomously. You are a self-starter who can plan your own week, manage your time effectively between field and office tasks, and think on your feet.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to assess the scope of required works and understand the commercial implications of service agreements.
- Familiarity with asset management systems (e.g., Maximo, or similar) and the principles of work order management.

If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
