The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Forklift Operator to join our warehouse and refrigerated transport operations in Regency Park.
This is a permanent position with early morning shifts starting at 4:00am.
You will play an important role in the daily movement of refrigerated freight, working closely with our warehouse and transport teams to ensure goods are loaded, unloaded and dispatched safely, accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring freight is handled efficiently and without damage.
- Move, stack and organise freight within the warehouse and loading areas.
- Prepare, stage and check freight for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and minimising damage.
- Maintain accurate pallet records, including pallet movements, exchanges and discrepancies.
- Handle refrigerated freight in accordance with cold-chain and food safety requirements.
- Complete daily forklift pre-start checks and report equipment defects or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate freight and stock records and assist with general warehouse duties as required.
- Work closely with drivers and warehouse staff to meet daily operational requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current High Risk Work Licence (LF).
- Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse, transport depot or loading dock environment.
- Experience loading and unloading trucks and handling freight safely and efficiently.
- The ability to reliably commence work at 4:00am and work in refrigerated environments.
- A strong understanding of forklift safety and safe load-handling practices.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate freight and pallet records.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A reliable work ethic and commitment to following workplace safety and operational procedures.
Experience in refrigerated transport, cold storage, RF scanning or warehouse management systems will be highly regarded.
