Robinvale District Health Services (RDHS) is seeking an experienced, motivated and passionate Mental Health Social Worker to lead the establishment and delivery of our new mental health service.

This is a funded position for a fixed term of two years, offering an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a new service, improve access to mental health support and make a lasting difference to the wellbeing of people across our region.

About the role

Robinvale District Health Services is seeking a Mental Health Social Worker to join our dedicated healthcare team. This is a full-time position based in Robinvale, VIC 3549. In this role, you will provide compassionate and professional mental health support to individuals and families within our community. As a Mental Health Social Worker, you will play a crucial part in our healthcare delivery, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote mental wellbeing, facilitate recovery, and enhance the quality of life for our service users.

This position is integral to our commitment to providing accessible, high-quality mental health services to the Robinvale community.

What you'll be doing

- Lead the establishment and implementation of the new mental health service, including developing service processes, referral pathways and partnerships.

- Provide mental health counselling, therapeutic interventions and early intervention support.

- Deliver person-centred, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed mental health care.

- Develop individual recovery plans and support strategies.

- Build strong relationships with external mental health providers, healthcare professionals and key stakeholders





- Promote the new service and improve awareness and access to mental health support.

- Contribute to service planning, evaluation and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

- A recognised Social Work qualification with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

- Demonstrated experience in mental health social work, counselling and therapeutic interventions.

- Demonstrated experience establishing, implementing or developing a new health or mental health service.

- Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed mental health practice.

- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- The ability to work autonomously, show initiative and drive service development.

- A current driver's licence.

- Clear current police check and WWCC
