No extensive experience is needed. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, willing to give things a go and ready to build their skills in a supportive team environment.
About the opportunity
Based at our City Offices, you will gain hands-on experience in business administration, customer service and finance while learning how local government operates and the important role Council plays in our community.

- Assisting with rates, fees, charges and general account enquiries.
- Helping maintain records and prepare accounts, invoices and notices.
- Learning how payments, reconciliations and other financial processes work.
- Using computer systems and Microsoft Office to support everyday administration.
Every day will be an opportunity to learn something new, build your confidence and develop skills that can open the door to future career opportunities.
About you
You don’t need to know everything on day one. What matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn.
You will bring:
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in learning new skills.
- Positive communication skills and a willingness to help others.
- An organised approach and the initiative to get things done.
- Basic computer skills and an interest in developing these further.
- The ability to work as part of a team while also taking responsibility for your own tasks.
- A commitment to completing your Certificate II and III in Business Administration.
Whether you are finishing school, looking for your first real workplace opportunity or ready for a change in direction, we encourage you to apply.
