Support Worker – Warragul

We’re looking for reliable, friendly support workers to join a small team supporting a woman in her home and out in the community in Warragul.

Her independence is significant to her, so we’re looking for people who are comfortable taking direction and getting to know how she likes things done. Someone who listens, respects her choices and knows when to offer a hand would be a excellent fit.

Her needs are primarily physical. She uses a wheelchair and completes step transfers, and her pain and fatigue can vary from day to day. Being patient and versatile, and working at her pace, will be important. Support includes personal care, cooking and housework, as well as getting to appointments, heading out and helping with everyday tasks. There’s also a companionship element, so finding people she feels comfortable with and enjoys spending time with matters just as much.

She has a large dog who is a very key part of her life. You’ll need to be comfortable around dogs,

happy to help with his care and willing to have both of them in your vehicle when going out.

She manages her own medical equipment and treatments. The role involves respecting this independence, with any practical assistance clearly discussed and agreed on beforehand.

Her current supports include around four to five hours during the day, with evening and inactive overnight support generally running from 5–6 pm until 9 am. The roster and availability can be discussed further.

Experience supporting people with physical disabilities would be helpful, along with current screening checks, first aid and CPR, and a suitable insured vehicle.

Most of all, we’re looking for people who are dependable, communicate openly and take the time to build a good working relationship.

Pay: $50.00 – $57.32 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week

Work Location: In person
