We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating vehicle and equipment movements, maintaining yard organization, supporting fleet operations, and ensuring all activities are completed safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role suited to an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport and logistics setting.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the movement of trucks, MHE, trailers, and equipment within the yard
Conduct vehicle and equipment pre-start inspections
Assist with loading, unloading, and staging of vehicles
Maintain a clean, organised, and protected yard setting
Direct drivers and contractors on-site
Perform basic vehicle and trailer checks and report defects
Support fleet maintenance scheduling and workshop activities
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
Complete yard documentation and operational records accurately
Assist with inventory as required
About you
Current Heavy Combination (HC) Licence
Experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, or yard operations
Forklift Licence
Experience operating heavy vehicles, trailers, or plant equipment
