Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker to support a client with complex care needs. This role is suited to someone with robust clinical support experience and confidence working with high-support clients.

Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
Support healthcare professionals in delivering medical treatments and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe setting for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
Assist in the preparation and administration of medications as directed by qualified staff.
Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.

Essential Experience & Skills
Experience with Phrenic Nerve Stimulator (PNS) / diaphragm pacing management
Tracheostomy (Trachy)



care experience
Ventilator management experience
Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Understanding or experience supporting clients with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS)
Ability to follow detailed care plans and clinical instructions
Strong observation and communication skills

Qualifications:
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in a healthcare or support role is preferred.
Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
