Chef de Partie - The Gallery Café

An exciting prospect exists for a passionate Chef de Partie to join The Gallery Café culinary team at the Art Gallery of NSW on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will join a successful, professional and highly regarded hospitality group operating at some of Australia’s most iconic venues, including the Australian Museum, Melbourne Museum, Queensland Museum, Sydney Theatre Company and the Art Gallery of NSW.

This is a full time permanent position, offering approximately 38 hours per week across a Monday to Sunday roster with mostly daytime shifts except for Thursday.

About the role
Based at the Art Gallery of NSW
Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure efficient food production and quality control
Prepare and present high-quality café food in a quick-paced setting




Maintain the highest standards of food presentation, quality and cleanliness
Contribute to menu changes inspired by gallery exhibitions
Join a friendly, supportive kitchen team led by a robust Head Chef

About you
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience working in a fast-paced café, restaurant or events environment
Strong grilling and service skills are highly regarded
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills
Valid working rights in Australia
