Role Description/Criteria

The community of St Fidelis is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care. All applicants need to demonstrate a commitment to the same principles.

Applications are invited from a qualified and experienced Education Support Officer (ESO) to join a team dedicated to achieving engaging learning experiences that challenge children to achieve their personal best.

We have an opening for a dedicated ESO to work 3 days a week (days to be negogiated with successful applicant ) 8:30am-3:30pm, for 19.76 hrs per week which is 0.52 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) commencing January 27th 2027.
The salary will be in accordance with the CEMEA as diverse or replaced from time to time.

The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader and Classroom teacher to support students learning through individual and small group work both within and outside of the classroom.

It is expected that the successful applicant will

• Be a reflective practitioner who has an understanding of the diverse needs of students who require individual and classroom support.

• Be able to work in collaboration with teachers as part of a team.

• Have excellent communication skills

• Be organised, supportive and resourceful.

• Use initiative within the class workplace to ensure optimal student support

• Be self-motivated and work independently if necessary

• Be able to build positive relationships with children and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued and challenged

• Demonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students

• Be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement

• Be able to embed ICT into the LSO role

• be willing to be involved in the school's co-curricular activities
