Ready to take the next step in your hospitality management career?
The Royal Oak Hotel is looking for an experienced, hands-on
Assistant Manager
to join our management team in the heart of Double Bay.
The Royal Oak is a busy, established Eastern Suburbs pub with a strong local following.
We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and creating a great pub experience — someone who notices the details, takes ownership and knows how to run a strong service.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality manager or supervisor looking to take on more responsibility and continue developing their career.
The Role
Working closely with the General Manager and venue management team, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the hotel.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading shifts and ensuring smooth day-to-day venue operations
Being visible, hands-on and present on the floor during service
Leading, inspiring and supporting the front-of-house team
Maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness and venue presentation
Ensuring the venue is set, stocked and ready for trade
Monitoring service standards and stepping in wherever the team needs support
Managing opening and closing procedures
Cash handling and other shift management responsibilities
Supporting stock control, ordering and operational processes
Managing customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
Maintaining RSA, gaming, WHS and other compliance requirements
Supporting the training and development of team members
Working with the management team to continually improve the venue and customer experience
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role
Is confident leading a team and running a busy service
Leads from the floor rather than from the office
Has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in venue presentation
Understands what great pub service looks like
Is proactive — you notice what needs doing and get it sorted
Communicates well with customers and team members
Remains organised and makes good decisions under pressure
Is reliable, positive and comfortable taking ownership of a shift
Holds a current NSW RSA and relevant gaming competency/licence requirements
Previous experience in a busy pub environment will be highly regarded.
What We Offer
Competitive remuneration based on experience
A supportive and experienced management team
Genuine opportunities for career progression
Training and development
Exposure to all aspects of venue operations
The opportunity to make an impact and continue developing your management career
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to
help run a great pub
.
If you're an experienced hospitality leader ready for your next step, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now with your CV and a short introduction.
Please note: This is an onshore position.
Only candidates currently residing in Australia with valid Australian working rights will be considered.
