At Michael Hill, we're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to lead financial accounting, reporting and asset related activities across our Group Services and asset management functions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, driving process improvements and providing meaningful commercial insights.What You'll Be DoingReporting to the Finance Manager – Corporate, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting business performance across the Group.
Your responsibilities will include:Leading month-end reporting processes for Group Services and asset accountingManage the reporting and analysis of Group capital expenditure (Capex), providing insights on budget performance and variances.
Reviewing financial results and providing insightful variance analysisManaging balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controlsPartnering with project leaders and stakeholders to drive accurate project costing and financial managementSupporting budgeting and forecasting processesProviding technical accounting guidance relating to assets and SaaS arrangementsCoordinating audit requirements and statutory reporting activitiesDriving continuous improvement initiatives across finance processesMentoring and supporting direct reports while fostering a collaborative team cultureWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking a commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships.You'll bring:CPA or CA qualificationDegree in Accounting or a related discipline5+ years' accounting experienceStrong financial reporting and general ledger experienceSound knowledge of IFRS accounting standardsExperience managing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processesAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management capabilitiesExperience working with ERP systems, with Dynamics 365 highly regardedWhat's On OfferOpportunity to influence and partner with senior business leadersExposure to a broad range of finance and asset accounting activitiesA supportive and team-oriented team environmentOngoing professional development and growth opportunitiesFlexible and modern working environment at our Brisbane Support CentreBe part of a successful international retail organisation with strong values and culture
