Lazard Australia is seeking to recruit an experienced Associate (3-plus years of direct investment banking experience) to join our Melbourne or Sydney office.Role and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the day-to-day support of transaction and marketing efforts and conducting company and industry analysis on new transaction opportunities.The candidate will:Research, analyse, sensitise and adapt both internal and client-facing financial and statistical analysis/models;Be responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of presentations and marketing materials for clients and prospective clients, in consultation with other team members;Work closely with senior corporate advisers, assisting them with various reports and analyses;Handle execution and process matters flawlessly, assisting in due diligence efforts as appropriate, understand client objectives and recommend potential solutions;Provide mentoring and supervision for analysts.RequirementsThe successful candidate should have outstanding academic graduate or post-graduate results and will have significant M&A; experience (3-plus years)



within an investment bank or corporate advisory firm.Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills with an ability to build financial models with ease;Robust understanding of the accounting principles that underlie typical financial analyses used in corporate advisory (particularly valuations);Self-motivated, with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests in a high pressure environment;Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong team skills;Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels;Strong verbal and written communication skills;Ability to work to tight deadlines;Strong appreciation of global capital markets and cross-border M&A; activities;Must maintain high standards of qualified and ethical conduct, adhere to legal and regulatory requirements of the investment banking environment, and follow Lazard Australia's policies and procedures.
