Clifton Springs Golf Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Course Superintendent to lead the presentation, maintenance, and continued development of our golf course.
This is a key leadership role within the Club, responsible for delivering consistently high playing conditions and leading an engaged course maintenance team.
The successful candidate will bring strong agronomic knowledge, practical operational capability and a genuine passion for golf course presentation.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with Golf Operations, the Course Superintendent will manage all aspects of course maintenance, including turf health, irrigation, machinery, staff, budgets and course improvement projects.Key responsibilitiesLead, develop and supervise the course maintenance teamDeliver a consistently high standard of presentation across greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, gardens and surrounding course areasDevelop and implement annual maintenance, agronomy, irrigation, fertiliser and chemical application programsMonitor turf health, soil conditions, pests, diseases and weather impactsManage daily work schedules, staff rostering and contractor requirementsOversee the safe operation, maintenance and replacement planning of course machinery and equipmentPrepare and manage course maintenance budgets, including labour, materials,



chemicals and capital requirementsSupport the planning and delivery of course improvement and capital works projectsWork collaboratively with the CEO, Head of Golf, Golf Operations and Club management on course set-up, competitions, events and member expectationsEnsure compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental and chemical-handling requirementsAbout youDemonstrated experience as a Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or senior turf professionalRelevant qualification in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture, or a related disciplineStrong knowledge of golf course agronomy, irrigation systems, turf nutrition, and chemical applicationsProven experience leading, developing and motivating a teamSound financial and budget-management capabilityStrong communication skills and the confidence to work with members, management, contractors, and suppliersA proactive, practical, and hands-on leadership styleCurrent driver's licence: chemical accreditation and relevant machinery licences are highly regardedAvailability to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays as requiredAbout usClifton Springs Golf Club offers an exciting opportunity to lead the course operation at a progressive and growing Club, with a solid commitment to course presentation, member experience and future investment.Clifton Springs Golf Club is an equal opportunity employer.
