We are partnering with an established commercial organisation in the Northern Rivers to recruit a Financial Operations Manager to join their team in Ballina.
This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function, leading a team of three direct reports and ensuring the organisation has the financial information, systems and insights needed to make sound commercial decisions.
The Role
Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business, you will take ownership of the finance function while providing practical, commercially focused financial advice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, supporting and developing a finance team of threeOverseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the businessPreparing and reviewing management accounts and financial reportingManaging budgeting, forecasting and cash flowMonitoring financial performance and identifying trends, risks and opportunitiesProviding meaningful financial analysis to support commercial decision-makingEnsuring strong financial controls, processes and governanceOverseeing compliance and statutory reporting requirementsWorking collaboratively with operational leaders across the organisationIdentifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reportingSupporting senior leadership with financial planning and business initiatives
About You




We are looking for an experienced finance professional who can balance technical capability with a practical and commercial approach.
You will ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience in a senior finance, financial management or accounting roleStrong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting capabilityExperience leading and developing a small finance teamThe ability to analyse financial information and translate it into meaningful business insightsStrong commercial acumen and an understanding of how finance supports operational performanceExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive, solutions-focused approachRelevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related disciplineCA/CPA qualifications or equivalent would be highly regarded
