CMV Group, a true South Australian icon and one of South Australia's largest privately owned businesses, is looking for an experienced WHS Advisor to join its growing team. With more than 90 years of business success, CMV employs approximately 2,000 people across South Australia and Victoria and operates some of the most progressive franchises within the automotive and agricultural industries. What really stands out about this opportunity is the importance placed on safety across the Group.
Safety First is CMV's number one value – it's embedded in the way the business operates and the work of the WHS team is highly regarded across the organisation. It's also an exciting time to join.
The WHS function is growing and continuing to evolve, creating an opportunity to not only step into an established environment with good systems and frameworks already in place, but to contribute ideas, get involved in projects and help shape how the function develops from here. So, what's the role?
Based from CMV Group's Greenhill Road office, this is a hands-on WHS Advisor position supporting businesses and sites predominantly across metropolitan Adelaide, with occasional travel to regional South Australian locations. You'll work closely with managers and leaders across the Group, providing practical WHS advice, coaching and guidance while building their capability and driving continuous improvement in safety practices. This isn't a role where you'll spend your week sitting behind a desk.
You'll be visible across the business, building relationships,
understanding how different sites operate and working alongside leaders to identify opportunities and achieve better safety outcomes. There's plenty of variety, autonomy and scope to make an impact.
You'll have established systems and frameworks to work with, the support of a WHS Coordinator and the opportunity to be involved in broader WHS projects as the function continues to grow and evolve.A typical week might see you:Building strong relationships across sites and influencing positive safety behavioursIdentifying hazards, assessing risks and working with leaders to implement practical controlsLeading incident investigations and ensuring actions and outcomes are followed throughConducting internal WHS audits and contributing to external auditsSupporting the ongoing implementation and improvement of WHS systems, policies and proceduresKeeping leaders informed of relevant legislative changes and WHS requirementsIdentifying training needs and facilitating WHS training where requiredContributing to monthly safety reporting, research and broader WHS projectsHelping drive a proactive, positive safety culture across the Group.Who are you?

You'll be working with managers and leaders across a diverse group of businesses,
so you need to be comfortable holding your own, providing advice and constructively challenging when required.
Just as importantly, you know that influencing better safety outcomes starts with relationships – you're approachable, credible and able to bring people with you. You're proactive and motivated, with a genuine interest in improving WHS across an organisation.
