The role of the Program Delivery Officer in Southern Queensland Correctional Centre involves the coordination of women specific programs, designed for women who have general offending treatment needs.The role of a Program Delivery Officer contributes to the rehabilitation and reintegration of women in custody to a community setting.Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (SQCC) is located in Spring Creek, approximately 17 kms from the township of Gatton in the Lockyer Valley.
The centre provides high security secure placement accommodation for sentenced and remand women that are classified as high or low security.
Women who enter the criminal justice system often come from lives characterised by sexual, emotional and physical abuse, domestic and family violence, substance addiction and mental health problems.
QCS provides a gender-responsive, trauma-informed approach to managing women with the goal of offering an prospect to truly rehabilitate and escape the cycle that led to crime.




It is important to recognise that to change a woman is to change a generation.This role is an Individual Contributor under the Leadership Competencies for Queensland framework.Within the context of the role accountabilities described in About the Role, the most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills, and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:Experience or ability to deliver of group-based behavioural change programsExperience in and understanding of the criminal justice, case management or similar human services fieldExperience in a practice supervision both as supervisee and preferably a supervisor with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and encourage others to meet the challenges of demanding work rolesAbility to engage with community groups and/or implement community development strategiesExperience or ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgroundsUnderstanding and application of theories, models and research related to behavioural change techniquesKnowledge and application of research and practices, risk assessment instruments, process their application specific to effective correctional rehabilitationKnowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and proceduresExperience in problem solving, networking, risk management and conflict management
