Are you a passionate and flexible teacher committed to supporting students who have struggled to find success in education? Are you the 'go-to' person for students who struggle to find connections at school? Or maybe you're searching for a current challenge. If so, this is the opportunity you have been looking for. Galilee School is seeking dedicated teachers with experience across secondary and senior secondary settings. BSSS experience and the capacity to teach Mathematics are highly desirable, but not essential. We welcome flexible, adaptable educators who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact in the lives of our students and contributing to a collaborative, relationship-driven learning environment.
About Galilee School
Galilee School is a registered, independent Secondary and Senior Secondary school designed specifically for disengaged and vulnerable young people in Years 7-12, in the ACT and surrounding areas for whom the mainstream schooling environment has struggled to deliver positive outcomes.
As a Special Assistance School, we employ a team of highly skilled educators, youth workers and support staff. We provide students with a quality education aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (ACTBSSS)
Each student is involved in the development of their Individual Learning Plan designed to ensure that learning is targeted to their zone of proximal development and that the long-term and short-term goals of students, parents/carers, and school are aligned.
We provide training, skill development and job ready support for students transitioning to the workforce or to further educational opportunities.
The school is learner centred; strengths based; relationship driven and restorative.

This is a rewarding role for a teacher who can make Mathematics feel accessible, purposeful and connected to students' futures.

even if this has proven elusive to them in other contexts. In partnership with the rest of our school staff and community our teachers support our students in their day-to-day studies and activities at Galilee School as they pursue their personal goals and their individualised objectives for learning.
Our staff are passionate about supporting young people to succeed in education where they haven't experienced it in the past.
