Community Engagement Officer (Male Identified)In the Community Relations Unit, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships between Cape York Land Council (CYLC) and the communities the organisation serves.
It will involve developing relationships with Traditional Owners of the Cape and assisting the CYLC internal legal and anthropological teams to effectively work with and engage with Traditional Owners.Key responsibilitiesCo-facilitating Traditional Owner meetings in remote communitiesProviding cultural support to internal business unitsRepresenting CYLC at community meetings and conferencesDeveloping relationships with Traditional Owners of the CapeAbout youPrevious experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly in remote communitiesAbility to communicate clear information to relevant stakeholdersHigh degree of written and verbal communication skills,



with a focus on attention to detailRelationship building skills with clients and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment while managing competing prioritiesExcellent time management and organisational skillsThe ability to undertake regular travel throughout Cape YorkAbout usCYLC is the native title representative body for Cape York.
CYLC has successfully pursued the recognition of Aboriginal land rights and native title and led innovative reform on the Cape.
