Solidcast is a growing precast concrete and modular construction business based in Wauchope on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to take responsibility for preparing accurate and commercially sound tenders across a range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
This is not simply a quantity take-off role.
The successful candidate must be able to review drawings and specifications, understand the complete scope of work, think about buildability and ensure that all costs are adequately allowed for.Key responsibilitiesReview drawings and specifications to understand the complete scope.Assess buildability, production methodology and installation requirements.Identify difficult details, design gaps, coordination issues and pricing risks.Review outsourced take-offs for obvious omissions or inconsistencies.Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.Liaise with clients throughout the tender process, provide timely updates and maintain strong ongoing relationships.Prepare tender clarifications,



exclusions and assumptions.Produce a complete tender recommendation for final approval.Assist with negotiations and hand over awarded projects to the delivery team.About youExperience in precast concrete, structural concrete, civil construction or a related fieldStrong drawing-reading and scope-review skillsA practical understanding of construction methodologyExcellent attention to detailStrong commercial judgment and numerical skillsGood written communication and organisational skillsThe ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlinesA key role in a growing Australian manufacturing business.Exposure to wide-ranging and significant construction projects.Direct involvement in pricing strategy and commercial decisions.Support from an experienced technical and management team.Competitive remuneration based on experience.Long-term career development as Solidcast expands its manufacturing capability.
