You will work closely with experienced underwriters who will support your development while giving you the opportunity to become increasingly involved in the underwriting process.What you will bringAs an Assistant Underwriter, you will support the team across the day-to-day administration, including:Assisting with the preparation and assessment of new business and renewalsReviewing underwriting information and identifying where further information is requiredPreparing quotes, policy documentation, endorsements and renewalsLiaising with brokers and building robust working relationshipsSupporting Underwriters with general administrative responsibilitiesEnsuring underwriting information and records are accurate and up to dateWorking within underwriting guidelines, delegated authority and internal proceduresDeveloping your understanding of risk assessment,



pricing and policy coverageWorking collaboratively with our Underwriting, Claims and broader IIS teamsContributing ideas and looking for ways we can continually improve how we workWe are looking for someone who is keen to learn and ready to take a career in insurance.Ideally, you will bring:An interest in developing a career in insuranceStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsConfidence in communicating with brokers, team members and other stakeholdersThe ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlinesA willingness to ask questions and learn from experienced team membersA curious mindset and an interest in understanding the 'why', not just the processA collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider teamSound computer and Microsoft Office skillsWhy IIS?
