We are dedicated to connecting skilled individuals with rewarding roles that align with their experience, career goals, and long-term ambitions.About the OpportunityWe are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected supplier to the Australian mining industry for an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist – Milling to join their manufacturing team.Currently based in Sunshine, the business will be relocating to Airport West at the end of July.The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the manufacture of CNC machined components for tools, jigs and fixtures used throughout the manufacturing process, supporting the changing requirements of a diverse client base.This position would suit an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist or Toolmaker who is confident programming using CAM, setting and operating CNC milling machines, and producing precision tooling components from start to finish.Hours & RateMonday – Thursday: 6:00AM – 2:30PMFriday: 6:00AM – 12:00PMRate: $***** – $***** p/hr, based on experience and skillsetKey ResponsibilitiesWriting CNC programs using CAMSetting up and operating CNC milling machinesSetting up tooling and workpieces and trialling CNC programsPreparing and setting up workpieces ready for machiningSetting multiple workpiece coordinates and tool lengthsSelecting and setting appropriate tooling for each jobMonitoring tool condition and replacing tooling as requiredCompleting in-process and final inspection of CNC machined componentsReading and interpreting technical drawings and manufacturing specificationsPerforming regular maintenance checks on CNC machineryTroubleshooting and adjusting machinery as requiredOperating manual machines when requiredAssembly and maintenance of tooling as directedProviding skilled support across the Engineering, R&D; and Production TeamsEffectively managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a high standard of workmanshipMaintaining a safe, organised and positive working environmentCNC Tooling ManufactureOpen cast toolingCompression mould toolsInjection mould toolsJigs and fixturesOther specialised tooling components used throughout the manufacturing processExposure to or experience with EDM wire-cutting will also be highly regarded.Qualifications & ExperienceDemonstrated experience in CNC programming and millingStrong CAM programming capabilityPrevious CNC machine setup and operating experienceToolmaking or precision manufacturing experienceExperience manufacturing tooling, jigs and fixtures highly regardedAbility to confidently set workpieces, coordinates and tool lengthsStrong ability to read and interpret technical drawingsExperience completing precision measurements and inspectionsManual machining experienceEDM wire-cutting experience highly regardedExcellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high‐quality workStrong mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skillsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within Engineering, R&D; and Production teamsStrong commitment to workplace safety and qualityBenefits$45–$50 p/hr, dependent on experience and skillsetPermanent day‐shift hoursEarly finish every Friday – 12:00PMLong‐term prospect with an established Australian manufacturerVaried CNC work across tooling, jigs and fixturesOpportunity to work across Engineering, R&D; and ProductionSupportive and team‐focused working environmentSunshine location, relocating to Airport West at the end of JulyDon't miss this opportunity to join a respected and growing Australian manufacturer!
