Community Accommodation & Support Agency Inc – Mackay QLDKey responsibilitiesConduct regular outreach throughout the Mackay region to locate and engage with people experiencing rough sleepingBuild respectful and professional relationships with people experiencing rough sleeping, including those who may be hesitant or find it difficult to engage with servicesAssess immediate needs, risks and safety concerns and respond appropriately to changing situationsProvide practical support, advocacy, information and referrals to connect people with housing, temporary accommodation, health, mental health, AOD and other appropriate servicesWork collaboratively with government agencies, non-government organisations (NGOs) and other CASA programs to coordinate support and respond to rough sleeping within the communityEngage with local businesses and community members to build relationships, provide information and strengthen community connectionsMaintain accurate client records, case notes, program data and reportingContribute to a safe, supportive and accountable team environmentAbout youExperience working within community services, homelessness, housing, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), mental health, corrections, or another related fieldStrong engagement skills and the ability to build rapport with people who may be reluctant to engage with servicesCultural awareness and the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with people from diverse cultural backgroundsSound assessment,
