KAT Vehicle Shelving is looking for an experienced and capable hands‐on tradesperson to join our team.
You'll be involved in assembling and installing shelving systems and completing commercial vehicle fit‐outs.You don't necessarily need previous experience fitting vehicle shelving systems.
We're also interested in hearing from experienced tradespeople with transferable skills from related industries.We can teach you our products and processes — but we're looking for someone who already has solid hands‐on experience, is confident using tools and can work independently.About KAT Vehicle ShelvingKAT Vehicle Shelving is a proudly Australian‐owned, family‐operated business specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of shelving systems and commercial vehicle fit‐outs.For over 20 years, we've been helping tradespeople, businesses and fleet operators across Australia create safer, more organised and functional work vehicles.About The RoleThis is a hands‐on, full‐time position based at our Loganholme workshop.You'll be involved in assembling shelving systems and completing commercial vehicle fit‐outs.
The role includes measuring, cutting, fitting and modifying components to suit a range of commercial vans and utes.Physical RequirementsThis is a physically demanding, hands‐on role.
You'll spend a significant amount of your day working inside commercial vans and utes, including regularly getting in and out of vehicles, kneeling, crouching, bending and working in confined spaces while installing shelving and accessories.The role also involves lifting and handling shelving components, materials and tools throughout the day.




Applicants should be physically fit and capable of safely performing these tasks on a daily basis.Your Day‐to‐Day Will Include:Assembling and installing KAT Vehicle Shelving systemsMeasuring, cutting and fitting timber flooringInstalling slide drawer systems and vehicle accessoriesInstalling roof bars, roof racks and ladder restraintsMeasuring, marking and modifying components for accurate fitmentReading and following drawings, measurements and installation instructionsCompleting quality checks throughout each installationMaintaining a clean, organised and safe workshopCompleting work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanshipWhat We're Looking ForPrevious vehicle accessory fitting or commercial vehicle fit‐out experience would be highly regarded.
However, we're also keen to hear from experienced tradespeople with transferable skills from related areas such as:Mechanical or automotive workFabricationCarpentry or cabinetryShopfittingAutomotive electricalConstruction or installation workOther similar hands‐on tradesTo be successful in this role, you will need:Solid experience working in a hands‐on trade or workshop environmentConfidence using hand and power toolsAbility to accurately measure, mark, cut and fit materialsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skillsAbility to read and follow drawings, measurements and instructionsAbility to work independently and take ownership of your workHigh attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanshipReliability, punctuality and a strong work ethicA current Australian Driver's LicenceThis is not an entry‐level position.
