Job Description
Our client is an industry leading agribusiness with sophisticated Abattoir operations located in Veradilla and surrounds.
They are currently looking to fill 250 Meat Worker positions across their Abattoir, with work commencing from October **** onwards.
You are required to work in an abattoir/ slaughterhouse workplace with exposure to Noise, Cold/ hot environments, deceased animals and raw meat.
It is crucial that you are fit, comfortable and able to perform heavy lifting and repetitive tasks such as; standing for long periods of time, walking and bending.
You will be paid under the Meat Industry Award – Level 3, an hourly rate of $***** per hour, with a minimum of 38 hours of work, per week.
This will be aligned with the Fair
Work Commission's annual reviews, including any increases to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award rates of pay.
You will be offered between 1-4 years of work with potential to upskill.
Key duties include: Key duties include, but are not limited to:
Move and manage animals before they are slaughtered
Remove hides/pelts and internal organs
Use saws to split the carcasses
Trim carcasses
Move carcasses to chillers and freezers
Break carcasses by boning and slicing meat cuts for sale and further processing
Pack the boned and sliced meat into cartons
Process hides and pelts




Process by-products
Load meat products into trucks
Produce and package meat products
Use electric and hand held cutting tools
Follow strict hygiene and safety guidelines
Use packaging machinery
Cleaning and sanitation of food production environment
Characteristics and Aptitudes: To be considered for the roles, it's important you meet the following criteria:
Comfortable working with live and deceased animals
Good communication skills and able to follow instructions
No asthma or dust allergies
Live locally or be happy to relocate to Veradilla
Physically fit and comfortable in carrying out labour intensive duties
Comfortable working in direct contact with raw meat
Able to follow directions and work unsupervised whilst showing high levels of initiative
A team player and happy working with a multicultural team
