APS5 Compliance Officer | Finance & Assurance
McArthur is recruitingtwo APS5 Compliance Officersfor a major Commonwealth Government regulatory agency in Canberra.
These opportunities will suit detail-oriented candidates with experience across compliance, financial assessment, audit, assurance, grants, finance or structured quality-review environments.
The opportunity
You will undertake structured compliance assessments and review financial and supporting information to determine accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative and procedural requirements.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing financial documentation and formal submissions, undertaking compliance checks and enquiries, identifying inconsistencies or potential non-compliance, assisting with statutory funding assessments and payment processes, and preparing accurate records and advice for decision-makers.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked infinancial audits, quality checking, compliance assessments or similar structured review environments.
Accounting, commerce, finance or related qualifications or practical experience are highly regarded.

Commonwealth or state regulatory compliance; grants assessment or acquittals; finance or accounting; audit or assurance; payment integrity; program compliance; financial administration; regulatory assessment; or quality assurance.
You do not need to have worked within this exact regulatory scheme previously.
Strong transferablefinancial/complianceassessment experience is valuable.
You will need strong attention to detail, analytical ability, explicit written communication and the ability to make well-reasoned assessments against legislation, policy and procedures.
What is on offer
$82,336-$90,234 + 15.4% superannuation
Full-time non-ongoing APS appointment
Approximately 12 months with potential extension
Canberra based
Expected commencement: 2 November ****
Paid Christmas/New Year shutdown provisions and other APS conditions
Australian citizenship is mandatory.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance and satisfy pre-employment screening requirements.
