Customer Service Officers - Wollongong Street Teams
Join a major customer service project across the Illawarra
McArthur is recruiting a team ofCustomer Service Officers and Team Leadersfor an upcoming transport-focused customer engagement project acrossWollongong and surrounding locations.
You'll work as part of atwo-person street teamat busy public transport locations, helping customers with information, directions and wayfinding while providing a friendly, visible and professional presence on the ground.
This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy working with the public, like being out and about, and want to be part of a large, well-organised project team.
The role
Depending on your location and shift, you may be responsible for:
Welcoming and assisting customers
Providing directions, information and wayfinding support
Working closely with your street-team partner
Monitoring customer activity and identifying issues
Providing feedback from the field
Completing simple end-of-shift reporting
Escalating issues to Team Leaders and project management
Following project procedures, safety requirements and daily briefings
We also have opportunities for experiencedTeam Leaders, who will take on additional responsibility for communication, coordination, reporting and supporting teams across the project.
About you
We're looking for people who are:




Friendly, confident and approachable
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable speaking with members of the public
Calm and qualified in busy environments
Able to follow instructions and work as part of a structured team
Flexible with locations and shift times
Experience incustomer service, events, hospitality, tourism, transport, retail, venues, concierge or other public-facing roleswould be highly regarded.
Availability
The project is expected to run for approximatelyone monthand will include a mix of:
Weekday shifts
Weekend work
Early morning starts
Multiple Wollongong and Illawarra locations
Candidates with strong availability across the project period will be highly regarded.
Project-specific training and operational briefings will be provided before deployment.
More than one project
Strong performers may also have the opportunity to work acrossfuture McArthur projects and events, providing further casual work across customer service, transport and event operations.
