The Team Leader is a hands-on lead from the front to ensure efficiency and quality in the assembly of concrete sleepers, supporting the Production Manager with the day-to-day management of the production area, overseeing a group of team members and ensuring an efficient production in achieving business targets.This is a hands-on role in a busy concrete sleeper manufacturing environment.
The position involves regular manual handling, lifting, standing for extended periods and physically demanding production work.We're looking for someone who is physically fit, energetic, reliable and comfortable working hard as part of a team.
You'll need the strength and stamina to safely handle concrete products and keep up with a quick-paced production environment.Key responsibilitiesEnsure all team members adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gearPerform inspections of end products to assess quality according to company standardsRecord daily sleepers information and data to track performance in accordance with production goalsSupervise and train production team membersMeet daily KPIsMaintain and keep clean storage and production work areas, lunchrooms and smoko areasWork on production floor and lead from the frontEnsure pre-start inspections are done daily on machinery and forkliftsDaily reporting to Production ManagersMaintain and upkeep moulds and all tools and equipmentAbout youMust have a forklift license and be very competent on a forkliftExperience in production managementUnderstanding of quality standards and health and safety regulationsProfessional attitude and reliableSelf-driven with ability to consistently meet all deadlinesAble to work under pressure and attend to ad hoc functions as requiredAbility to drive efficiencies and informed decision making through extensive analysisAdopts a professional approach to own accountabilityAbility to adapt to changing environment
