Casual Clinical Optometrist | Ophthalmic TechnicianHorizon Surgical Eye Centre | Tugun, Gold CoastHorizon Surgical Eye Centre is seeking an experienced and motivated Ophthalmic Technician or Clinical Optometrist to join our team on a casual basis, supporting our ophthalmologist and clinical team on scheduled clinic days.Located at the John Flynn Private Hospital in Tugun, Horizon Surgical Eye Centre is a specialist ophthalmology practice providing comprehensive eye care, diagnostic testing and treatment in a modern clinical environment.This position would suit an experienced ophthalmic technician looking for flexible casual work within a professional and busy specialist practice.About the RoleWorking closely with our ophthalmologist and clinical team, you will assist with the efficient preparation and assessment of patients throughout the clinic.Your responsibilities may include:Undertaking preliminary patient assessments and ophthalmic work-upsVisual acuity testingIntraocular pressure measurementOCT and other ophthalmic imagingVisual field testingBiometry and other pre-operative diagnostic testingAssisting with patient flow and preparing patients for consultationMaintaining accurate clinical recordsCleaning and preparing ophthalmic equipment between patientsProviding a high standard of patient care and communicationSupporting the ophthalmologist and broader clinical team as requiredAbout YouWe are looking for someone who is confident working in a clinical setting and understands the importance of accuracy, efficiency and excellent patient care.Previous experience working in a busy ophthalmology clinic is highly desirable.The successful candidate will ideally have:Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician, ophthalmic assistant or in a similar clinical roleFamiliarity with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testingStrong attention to detail and the ability to follow clinical proceduresExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA professional and compassionate approach to patient careThe ability to work efficiently in a busy clinic environmentConfidence working both independently and as part of a small clinical teamAbout Horizon Surgical Eye CentreHorizon Surgical Eye Centre provides specialist ophthalmic care from our practice at the John Flynn Private Hospital in Tugun.Our practice has access to comprehensive diagnostic equipment and technology, allowing patients to undertake their required ophthalmic testing and scans within the one centre.We are committed to providing qualified, efficient and personalised care to every patient.
