Bendigo, Echuca, Swan Hill or surrounds | Full time | Permanent
Our client is an established regional Victorian building company with a 30 year track record and more than 12,000 work orders a year.
They deliver maintenance, upgrades and project works for government, community housing and local government clients across regional Victoria.
They are looking for a Building Supervisor who likes variety, can think on their feet and takes pride in leaving a home better than they found it.
Why this role is different
Some weeks it is a run of bathroom upgrades.
Other weeks it is a multi-property program with trades on several sites at once.
In between there are kitchens, structural repairs, flooring, painting, accessibility works and the job that turned out to be bigger once the wall came off.
The work is often in occupied homes, with tenants who need to be kept informed and treated with respect.
Access can be tight, timeframes can move, and the scope is not always what the work order said.
If you enjoy solving those problems rather than avoiding them, you will do well here.
Based where the work is
Head office is in Bendigo, but this role does not have to be.
Our client wants to better service the regions, so they are open to a supervisor based inBendigo, Echuca, Swan Hillor a nearby regional centre.
You will mostly look after works around your area, with travel across northern Victoria as needed.
You will not be doing it alone
You will be backed by a team ofProject Administration Coordinatorswho manage work orders, bookings, client updates and paperwork.
That frees you to focus on what you do best: running the work on site,



keeping trades moving and getting jobs finished properly.
What you will do
Build and manage project schedules from start to finish
Scope works on site and confirm what is really required
Coordinate trades, subcontractors and materials so jobs keep moving
Liaise with clients, property managers and tenants, and keep everyone informed
Run site inspections, quality checks and defect follow up
Keep sites safe and WHS compliant
Lead handover meetings and sign off completed works
Work with the coordinators to make sure jobs are closed out and ready to invoice
What you will bring
Solid hands-on building experience, ideally in maintenance, renovation or residential works
Experience supervising sites and coordinating trades
Confidence dealing with tenants, clients and trades in the same day
A practical problem solver who can make good calls on site
Organised, reliable and comfortable using job management software (SimPro experience a bonus)
Current driver licence, Construction Induction (White Card) and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
Registered building practitioner or Cert IV in Building and Construction highly regarded, but not essential
Tradies who have been running jobs and are ready to step up into supervision are encouraged to apply.
