You will provide essential support services that enable our clients to participate meaningfully in their communities, pursue their goals, and maintain their dignity and autonomy.
This position is fundamental to our mission of fostering inclusion and promoting quality of life for people with disabilities.Key responsibilitiesProvide personalised support to individuals with disabilities, assisting with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasksFacilitate community participation by accompanying clients to social activities, appointments, recreational activities, and community eventsSupport clients in developing and maintaining life skills, including money management, social interactions, and self-advocacyMaintain detailed and accurate records of client support provided, noting any changes in client needs or wellbeingCommunicate effectively with clients, families, and other support team members to ensure coordinated and person-centred careUphold person-centred principles, respecting client preferences, choices, and autonomy in all interactionsRespond sensitively and professionally to challenging behaviours or situations,



maintaining client safety and wellbeing at all timesAssist clients in building confidence and pursuing their individual goals and aspirationsMaintain a safe and hygienic environment and follow all health and safety protocolsDemonstrate commitment to equal opportunities and celebrate the diversity of the individuals you supportWhat we're looking forPrevious experience working in disability support, aged care, community services, or a related fieldA genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred careStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleaguesPatience, empathy, and emotional resilience when working with individuals facing complex challengesAbility to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative while following guidelines and directionsPhysical capability to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks where requiredFlexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt to the variable nature of casual workCurrent Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain one)Reliable transport and a valid Australian driving licence (desirable)National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
