CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR / CONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR

Registered Open Builder | Part-Time | 1–2 Days Per Week Initially | North Brisbane
n
All Jones Building is a fully licensed and insured registered open builder based on Brisbane's north side.
n
We currently have a crew of approximately 15 tradesmen and undertake a diverse range of residential and commercial construction projects across South East Queensland.
n
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator / Contracts Administrator to work directly with the owner and take greater control of our estimating, tendering and office/project administration.
n
This will initially be 1–2 days per week, with the opportunity for the position and hours to grow with the business.

Pubs and hospitality projects

General commercial construction and maintenance

We are also QBuild registered and are actively expanding into government and remote works, including opportunities involving forestry and remote/island projects.
THE ROLE n
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the estimating, tendering and administration side of the business.
Responsibilities will include: n

Reading plans, specifications and tender documents
n
Preparing detailed estimates and quantity take-offs
n
Preparing and submitting residential, commercial and government tenders
n
Obtaining subcontractor and supplier pricing
n
Comparing quotes and negotiating pricing where appropriate
n
Preparing scopes of works and subcontractor packages
n
Project budgets and cost tracking
n
Variations and progress claims
n




Invoicing and accounts administration
n
SWMS, safety and compliance documentation
n
Assisting with contracts and project documentation
n
Client, subcontractor and supplier correspondence
n
Project scheduling and procurement
n
Maintaining organised project and tender files
n
General construction office administration
n
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR n
This is not a basic receptionist or administration position.
n
We want someone with genuine construction experience who understands how building projects are priced, tendered, awarded and delivered.
n
Ideally, you will have experience as a:
n
Estimator | Contracts Administrator | Construction Administrator | Project Coordinator | Quantity Surveyor
n
You will need to be highly organised, confident with numbers, able to read construction drawings and specifications, and capable of working independently without needing constant direction.
n
Experience with residential and commercial estimating software, Excel and accounting/project-management software will be highly regarded.
n
Experience preparing government/QBuild tenders would be a major advantage.

We aren't looking for someone simply to sit in an office and process paperwork.

We're looking for the right person to become an important part of All Jones Building and help us improve our estimating, tendering, systems and project administration as the company grows.
n
There is significant variety in our work, from residential renovations through to structural steel, commercial construction and larger government opportunities.
n
Initially, the position will be approximately 1–2 days per week, with flexibility for the right person and the potential to increase hours as workload grows.
n
Remuneration is negotiable based on experience and capability.
n
Part-time employment or a contractor arrangement can be discussed with the successful applicant.
