We are seeking a
Junior Safety Advisor to support a BESS Project in Victoria.
About the Role n
To support the rigorous compliance with Health, Safety policies and procedures on the project site, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure all personnel work in a safe manner.

Routine Safety Inspections:
Conduct and document LP-Loss Prevention regular site walks, inspections of work areas, and equipment to identify potential hazards and non-conformances, reporting immediately.
n
JSA/SWMS Support:
Assist in the review of Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), ensuring their effective application on site.
n
Emergency Response:
Be familiar with Emergency Response Procedures, support site drills, and assist the response team during any emergency situation.

BESS Specific Hazards:




Understand and monitor safety measures related to high-voltage work, Lithium-Ion battery fire hazards, and chemical storage and handling.
n
Site Orientation:
Assist in conducting site safety orientation and induction training for new personnel and visitors.
n
Toolbox Talks:
Support the preparation and assist with regular Toolbox Talks and safety meetings to promote safety awareness among site workers.
n
Culture Promotion:
Actively engage with workers to foster a positive safety culture and listen to safety suggestions and concerns.
n
Incident/Near Miss:
Provide rapid support at the scene of all safety incidents and near misses, assist with report writing, and support initial investigations under senior's supervision.
n
Document Management:
Maintain and manage HSE related records (inspection reports, training records, permits, etc.) accurately and systematically.
n
Legal Compliance:
Support the verification that the
Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act ****
and relevant regulatory requirements are adhered to on site.
n
About You n
n
Diploma or cert IV in WHS or Occupational Health related field.
n
3–4 years of relevant safety experience in construction, energy, or heavy industry (Entry-level welcome; site experience preferred).
n
Basic understanding of Australian & Victorian W
HS laws and regulations
.
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
n
Mandatory
White Card
(General Construction Induction).
n
Basic knowledge of Lithium-Ion battery and electrical safety is an advantage due to BESS site workplace.
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
