The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for OpenShift Senior
Consultants/Consultants
to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this role, you will guide the on-site delivery and implementation of innovative Red Hat technology. You will focus on delivering quality work resulting in a positive customer experience, while building broad and deep technical expertise in one or more Red Hat technologies. As a Consultant, you'll gain an understanding of our customers' infrastructure and business needs with a particular focus on the OpenShift Platform and make recommendations appropriate to their environment. You will be a key driver in implementing enterprise-scale container solutions for our customers. Your work will have a direct and measurable impact, helping our customers build resilient, scalable, and secure application platforms.
Key responsibilities n
Lead Red Hat Consulting engagements end to end, owning the full lifecycle from discovery and architecture through implementation to handover.

Serve as a subject matter expert for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) at the client site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs
n
Implement sophisticated OpenShift solutions that integrate with a customer's existing infrastructure, including networking, storage, security, and identity management
n
Implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to automate application delivery and ensure a consistent, repeatable deployment process
n
Constantly learn about new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs
n
Produce quality results and provide support to more than one project in multiple industries and various types of projects
n
Keep stakeholders updated on actual or potential issues that may affect project or company performance
n




Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, and software specification, as well as the design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
n
Provide written project documentation that can be distributed within Red Hat and the client management team
n
Adapt to changing customer requirements
About you n
8+ years in technical consulting, skilled services, or platform architecture, including 3+ years running Kubernetes or OpenShift in production.
n
Deep hands‐on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, covering installation, configuration, and day‐2 operations.
n
Strong Kubernetes fundamentals, including workload and networking primitives, RBAC, and the operator pattern.
n
Experience with enterprise‐wide deployments
n
Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
n
Deep hands‐on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), or Open Source equivalents, including installation, configuration, and day‐2 operations
n
Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices and related tools (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton)
n
Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse audiences
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
Exceptional analytical, problem‐solving, project management, and planning skills
n
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or willingness to pursue certification within 90 days
n
Must be an Australian citizen, Australian government security clearance at NV1/NV2 or above
n
This role is based in Canberra and will require onsite delivery.
