About the Opportunity n
We're looking for a motivated
Trades Assistant
to join a leading heavy equipment workshop in
Toowoomba
.
n
In this hands‐on role, you'll work alongside qualified tradespeople supporting the maintenance, repair and rebuild of Caterpillar and other heavy equipment. If you enjoy workshop environments, take pride in working safely and have a strong work ethic, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll be doing n
n
Assist qualified tradespeople with the maintenance, repair and rebuild of Caterpillar and other heavy equipment.
n
Support workshop operations by preparing tools, equipment and work areas for maintenance activities.
n
Load, unload and move parts, components and machinery using a forklift and other approved material‐handling equipment.
n
Operate forklifts safely and in accordance with company and site procedures.
n
Assist with equipment inspections and servicing activities.
n
Perform general workshop duties,



housekeeping and maintain a clean, organised work setting.
n
Follow all Workplace Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe work practices.
n
Identify and report hazards, incidents and equipment defects.
n
Conduct manual handling tasks and safely use workshop tools and equipment.
n
What We're Looking For n
n
Current
Forklift Licence (LF)
- Essential
n
Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, Workshop Assistant or similar role
n
Experience working around heavy equipment, machinery, mining or construction equipment highly regarded
n
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
n
Ability to undertake physically demanding work
n
Reliable, motivated and eager to learn
n
Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
n
