About us
n Man of Steel Fabrication has been building custom 4WD trays, canopies and full touring fit-outs in Campbellfield for over 10 years. We're a small, tight team, and we're growing. Every vehicle that comes through the door is a one-off, built around how the customer actually uses it.

The role
n We're looking for a SolidWorks designer to join us full time, on site in our factory. You'll turn customer ideas into designs our fabricators can build, working a few meters from where they're being made. You'll start alongside our current designer, who'll show you how we do things.

Designing trays, canopies and fit-outs in SolidWorks, mostly sheet metal
n
Producing cut files and clear workshop drawings
n
Working with the owner on each design and with the fabricators on the floor as builds come together
n




Designing around different vehicles, layouts and customer requests on every job
n
About you
n
You understand how things are actually cut, folded and welded, not just how they look on screen
n
Comfortable going from a rough brief to a finished design without a template to follow
n
No engineering degree needed; a trade or fabrication background is welcome
n
An interest in 4WDs and touring is a big plus, but not essential
n
What's on offer
n
$80,000 to $95,000 plus super, depending on experience
n
Full time, Monday to Friday, in our Campbellfield factory
n
Hands-on training with our current designer
n
Varied work: you'll see your designs built and driving out the door within weeks
