Duties/Responsibilities
n
Without limiting the general scope and application of this Duty Statement, the duties include:
n
n
Re purpose second-hand goods
n
Operate singulator including feed-in and dispatching container deposit
n
Record container sales including customer account sales
n
Clean and sanitize second-hand shop
n
Working at waste transfer and recycling centre
n
Works on a complex sort on the conveyer line
n
Implements and has input to the development of training plans for employees with and without disabilities.
n
Timber Work n
n
Operating, but not setting up all machinery under general supervision
n
Sorts, stacks and binds timber materials.
n
Uses selected hand tools
n
Visually grades for defects
n
Operates a range of preset wood machines
n
Vehicle and Machinery Operation n
n
Drive Valmar vehicles and machines, where licenced and required.
n
Use motorised blower
n
Use push mowers
n
Use whipper snipper
n
Operate a range wood machinery including rip saw, docking saw and router
n
Shred security shredding
n
Operate the ride on mower with supervision
n
Retail Operations n
n
Operate cash register,



EFTPOS plus totalling daily sales, and cash float
n
Grounds & Site Maintenance n
n
Grounds maintenance
n
Sweep
n
Support employees
n
Supervises the work flow at multiple work stations.
n
Work Health & Safety (WHS), Code of Conduct & Compliance n
n
Promote and encourage all aspects of safety within the workplace.
n
At all times, and in all locations, work with all staff and in a positive appropriate manner in line with the Valmar Code of Conduct.
n
Participate in the Valmar Performance Appraisal process.
n
To work within WHS guidelines.
n
Hold a current First Aid certificate and administer first aid when required
n
Complete Incident reports as required
n
Conduct machinery and equipment safety checks daily
n
Selection Criteria: Skills: n
n
Has good interpersonal and communication skills.
n
Multi tasks within their ADE
n
Ability to perform a range of production tasks in a factory, timber, and recycling environment.
n
Competence in operating various tools and machinery, including wood processing equipment, forklifts, and gardening tools (e.g. mowers, whipper snippers, blowers).
n
Sound understanding of workplace safety practices and ability to follow WHS procedures.
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills,



including the ability to work positively with people with disabilities.
n
Ability to follow instructions, work under general supervision, and contribute to team outcomes.
n
Basic cash handling, EFTPOS and point-of-sale operation skills.
n
Ability to complete basic documentation, such as incident reports and sales records.
n
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining cleanliness and order in the work environment.
n
Experience supporting or working alongside people with disabilities
n
Qualifications, Licences and minimum experience requirements: n
- Holds at least two of the following externally certified qualifications:
n
n
Chainsaw Operators Certificate
n
Certificate 3 in Community Services (Disability)
n
Certificate 3 in Timber and Forests Products
n
Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training
n
Certificate 3 in Hospitality
n
Certificate 3 in Horticulture or Green Keeping
n
Other appropriate Qualification as agreed upon between the employee and Valmar
n
n
- Experience in timber processing, factory work, recycling, or grounds maintenance
n
- Experience operating manual and powered equipment safely and effectively
n
- Current NSW Driver's Licence
n
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
