As the Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you'll be reporting to the Product Support Supervior while working in a FIFO capacity.
Project Support Group n
PSG is a FIFO service department supporting WA with skilled maintenance personnel. We handle warranty support, shutdowns, and labour hire roles, equipped with service vehicles and tools.
n
This position is FIFO from Perth only, however support with relocation to Perth as per policy can also be provided to the right applicant.
Location: n
Solomon Hub – Open pit iron ore mine site in the Pilbara region.
Roster: n
7 days, 7 nights, 7 off, 12.5 hrs each day (inc. of 30 minutes meal break) – FIFO from Perth
What You'll Do: n
n
Pro-actively assist with customer maintenance work teams for assigned major & minor work scope
n
Be responsible for completing assigned work scope in alignment with the Customers and Westrac policies and procedures.
n
Emphasis on providing hands on technical assistance and a high level of productivity to support and assist the customer's maintenance work teams.
n
Is the link between the Customer, Westrac and Caterpillar for all hands-on Caterpillar equipment preventive maintenance practices and technical repairs.
n
Equipment trouble shooting and technical reporting via Caterpillar process and procedures.
n
Utilise Caterpillar product technical maintenance information and documentation SIS2.
n
Skills & Experience: n
n
Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology qualification coupled with post tradeexperience.
n
Valid Australian recognised HR Drivers Licence.
n
High level understanding of Caterpillar Warranty Provisions is essential.
n




Strong computer literacy with verbal and written communication skills.
n
Experience and strong understanding on 793F trucks, 994H & K loaders, D11T dozers and C175 and **** series engines including component change outs.
n
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
n
Confident to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team
