Why Register as a Medico-Legal Expert Practitioner with AOPA AOPA is regularly approached by external parties seeking references or recommendations of expert Practitioners, to conduct assessments and provide medico-legal reports.
AOPA is seeking to broaden its Medico-Legal Register of Expert Practitioners to enable us to direct these consultancy opportunities in a timely manner.
What happens when a Medico-Legal consultancy chance arises When a Medico-Legal consultancy opportunity arises,



AOPA will provide the name and contact details of appropriate experts listed on the Register to the enquiring firm.
From that point on, the enquiring firm will engage directly with the Expert Practitioners to determine the most suitable expert and confirm the contract arrangements for the work.
AOPA's only role in this process is to facilitate the connection with available Expert Practitioners in the appropriate clinical area.
The nature of these requests varies, and these services may be paid.
These arrangements are to be negotiated between the practitioner and the external party.
AOPA Eligibility criteria for inclusion on the AOPA Medico-Legal Register: AOPA certified member Currently practicing Senior experience in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics services Experience in medico-legal reporting is desirable Experience providing services to clients utilising compensation schemes is desirable We encourage practitioners included on the Register to be mindful of their , the and the .
