About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker for an urgent locum placement with the Older Persons Mental Health Service in Burnie, on Tasmania's North West coast. This contract runs from ASAP to 27 November 2026. You will join a multidisciplinary community team delivering recovery-focused, specialist mental health care to older people with complex needs.

- Competitive hourly rate + super
- Contract dates ASAP to 27 November 2026
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:06pm (76 hours per fortnight)
- Specialist older persons mental health service with a supportive multidisciplinary team
- Meaningful community-based work with a varied and complex caseload
- Coastal city lifestyle with easy access to Cradle Mountain, beaches and Tasmania's renowned produce

About You:

- Degree in Social Work and eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Experience working with mental health clients in a community setting
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (Tasmania), or willing to obtain




- Confident managing complex mental health presentations; experience with older persons is highly regarded
- Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Available for the full contract period
- Eligible to work in Australia
