- Genuine pathway into Team Leader opportunities
An established paediatric private practice near Manly is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join its growing clinical team.
This is a great opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who genuinely enjoys working with children and families and wants to be surrounded by other Occupational Therapists rather than working independently within a small team.
You’ll join a well-established service with dedicated Team Leaders, a Therapy Manager, Practice Manager, marketing support and administration, giving clinicians the structure to focus on delivering quality therapy.
The Role: You’ll support children, adolescents and an expanding young adult caseload, working with clients across a range of neurodevelopmental and functional presentations.
A large part of the caseload focuses on:
- Autism and ADHD
- Emotional regulation
- Sensory processing and regulation
- Fine and gross motor development
- Social participation
- Self-care and independence
- School participation
- Executive functioning and daily living skills
The practice has also recently expanded its services to support young adults up to approximately 25 years of age due to client retention, allowing clinicians to continue working with longstanding clients as they transition into adulthood.
You’ll initially have the opportunity to establish yourself within the clinic before developing additional variety through schools, preschools, community visits and telehealth.
A Manageable Clinical Week:
This practice believes clinicians perform at their best when their workload is sustainable.
- Approximately 5 client appointments per day
- Around 25 appointments across the week
- One-hour lunch break
- No excessive focus on billable targets
- Dedicated administration and clinical support
- Established referral pathways and caseload
- Early Finish Fridays
Standard working hours are:
Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am–3:00pm
You’ll have access to:
- Regular 1:1 supervision weekly
- Dedicated Therapy Manager
- Experienced Team Leaders
- Structured professional development
- Extensive therapy resources
- Internal paediatric OT education
- A large peer group of Occupational Therapists to collaborate with
The organisation has a strong reputation for developing clinicians internally, with opportunities for experienced OTs to progress towards Team Leader and clinical leadership positions.
Team Leaders remain clinically involved, generally balancing leadership responsibilities with their own client caseload.
The Clinic: You’ll be based from a well-equipped Northern Beaches clinic designed specifically for paediatric therapy.
The space includes:
- Large sensory gym
- Dedicated therapy rooms
- Extensive paediatric resources
- Space for individual and group therapy
- Access to longstanding clinical resources and programs
There are also opportunities to work within local schools, including established school partnerships where clinicians may spend a full day supporting students onsite.
Who We’re Looking For: This prospect would suit an Occupational Therapist who:
- Holds current AHPRA registration
- Has post-graduate Occupational Therapy experience
- Drives and has a car
- Has a genuine interest in paediatrics
- Enjoys working closely with children, young people and their parents
- Is confident communicating with families
- Has good energy and presence in a clinical environment
- Is comfortable speaking up, asking questions and communicating openly
- Values integrity and straightforward communication
- Wants to develop within one organisation rather than simply move between roles
- Ideally lives on or within a reasonable commute of Sydney’s Northern Beaches
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room. The team includes a mix of personalities and working styles. What matters most is that you’re engaged, approachable, open in your communication and genuinely passionate about paediatric OT.
For an Occupational Therapist with around 4–5 years’ experience, there may also be an opportunity to develop towards a future Team Leader position.
