If you're passionate about the sheep industry, with an interest in genetic growth, then this Senior Livestock role is for you.
The Role Our client seeks an enthusiastic, fit, and capable Senior Livestock Hand to play a key operational role in their high-output prime lamb enterprise. Reporting directly to management, you will be responsible for executing key animal husbandry duties across 6 properties, including drenching, vaccinating, lamb marking, stock movements, and pasture/pest management. Modern, well-maintained livestock facilities streamline everyday tasks, supported by precision tools such as Tru-Test XR5000 systems and advanced sheep handlers. Alongside livestock duties, the role involves essential property maintenance, including stock water system checks, fencing repairs, tractor operations, grain feeding, chainsaw work, and quad bike maintenance. A team of productive, well-controlled working dogs is essential for daily yard work and mustering. Training opportunities, including working dog education and industry courses such as Lifetime Ewe Management, will be actively supported for the right candidate.
The Employer: Glen Donald Pastoral Company is a forward-thinking, genetics-based agricultural enterprise spanning 1,950 hectares across six closely located properties within a 5 km radius in the West Wimmera region. Operating a high-performing prime lamb system, the business manages 9,000 elite Primeline ewes, with lambs finished on sub-clover pastures and sold as suckers in the spring. To maintain focus on core livestock operations and breeding excellence, seeding,

spraying, shearing, and lamb marking are contracted out. The enterprise takes great pride in utilising top-tier infrastructure, including undercover Norton sheep yards and modern bulk handlers, creating an efficient and professional environment for high-standard livestock management.
The Offer This position offers an attractive remuneration package, alongside a fully equipped work ute and extensive professional support. Accommodation is provided in a freshly renovated, four-bedroom house featuring a new kitchen, updated bathroom, new flooring throughout, an established garden, a two-bay garage, and extra shedding, located 2.5 km from the main homestead.
Situated just 5 km from Apsley and 12 km from Edenhope, the property is conveniently serviced by a school bus stop 1 km away. The local area boasts excellent facilities and community charm, including historic local pubs, primary and secondary schooling, healthcare services, and recreational attractions such as Lake Edenhope for fishing and water sports. Larger regional hubs such as Naracoorte (30 km away across the SA border) provide extensive retail and service options,

while Adelaide and Ballarat are within a 3.5-hour drive, and Melbourne is 5 hours away.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an ambitious, self-motivated agricultural professional who brings energy, level-headedness, and a passion for the livestock industry to their everyday work. Additionally, they will possess the following attributes:

- Strong practical experience in sheep husbandry, animal health, stock handling, and yard management.
- A competent team of working dogs capable of efficient mustering and pushing up in drafting yards.
- Solid skills in general farm maintenance, including fencing, stock water systems, tractor operation, and quad/chainsaw maintenance.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills with an eye for detail in stock management.
- A cooperative, outgoing personality with a good sense of humour, loyalty, and the ability to perform well under pressure both independently and alongside team members.
- Practical fitness and physical capability to meet the everyday demands of a high-turnover sheep operation.
