The Opportunity

We are working with an independent statutory authority who are seeking a Senior Solicitor with a strong commercial mindset, solutions-based approach and experience of complex contracts.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of working with Government bodies and a background in Commercial or Administrative Law. Additionally, the successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and a willingness to integrate herself/ himself into the organisation as a collaborative adviser.

Working as part of a large legal team (almost 30), your role will involve providing commercial advice, negotiating contracts, corporate governance & projects, among other responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have;

- A valid practising certificate in Victoria
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial or Administrative Law
- A realistic and pragmatic approach to working collaboratively with colleagues to find solutions
- A balanced, commercial mindset
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience dealing with government and corporate stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills which facilitate strong working relationships with stakeholders, both internal & external
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude & willingness to learn
