Position Overview:

Lean Mining is a team of experienced professionals focused on working collaboratively with clients to improve asset management, maintenance performance, cost control and the reliability of physical assets. The business delivers practical, tailored support across maintenance execution, planning, systems and continuous improvement.

As a Fitter and Turner at Lean Mining, you will be responsible for fitting, assembling, inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical components and equipment used to support reliable maintenance and asset performance for client operations. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision, fault-finding ability and a commitment to safe, reliable workmanship.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and maintenance requirements to determine materials, machining methods, work sequences and machine settings for mechanical components.

Set up and configure lathes and other machining tools with the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, guides and settings for precision fitting and turning work.

Machine, grind, bore, drill, cut and shape metal stock and components to specified dimensions and fine tolerances for the repair and maintenance of client assets.

Fit and assemble fabricated and machined metal parts and subassemblies in accordance with engineering specifications and equipment maintenance requirements.

Inspect completed and assembled components using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, clearances, alignment, fit and workmanship.

Test,



adjust and commission repaired or assembled machinery and mechanical equipment to confirm safe and reliable operation.

Diagnose mechanical faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauls and repairs on machinery, components and associated mechanical systems to support asset reliability.

Carry out planned and corrective maintenance activities in line with work orders, maintenance schedules and client site requirements, recording completed work and identified defects accurately.

Work with maintenance planners, supervisors, engineers and other trades to coordinate repairs, shutdown activities and equipment return-to-service requirements.

Maintain tools, workshop equipment and work areas in safe operating condition while following site safety procedures, quality requirements and Lean Mining's focus on reliable maintenance outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

Relevant qualification.

Minimum 1 year experience as a Fitter and Turner

Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and maintenance documentation.

Proficiency in fitting, turning and the use of precision measuring instruments.

Sound mechanical fault-finding, equipment maintenance and repair skills.

Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, teamwork and equipment reliability.

Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $80,000 - $90,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
