PEHA opened its newest private emergency department in Canberra in July 2026 and is inviting expressions of interest from FACEMs.

About the Opportunity
Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA) is a FACEM-founded and led organisation delivering expert management of private emergency departments across metropolitan, regional and rural Australia. Our focus is straightforward: supporting doctors to practise high-quality emergency medicine while reducing administrative burden and providing strong clinical mentorship.

The Canberra Emergency Care Centre is PEHA's newest site and opened in July 2026 at 7-11 Barry Drive, Turner ACT. We are inviting expressions of interest from FACEMs who are seeking contractor opportunities at this site.
We offer contractor engagements with rosters designed to support sustainable, long-term practice.

Department Overview
The Canberra Emergency Care Centre is a purpose-built private emergency department with 17 treatment spaces, including a dedicated resuscitation room. The department is equipped to assess and treat patients of all ages across a broad range of urgent presentations.
On-site advanced imaging includes:

- CT
- MRI
- X-ray
- Ultrasound

The department is supported by access to local specialists and surgeons, and is located within Canberra's Summit Healthcare Hub, bringing together a range of services in one location.

About You
- You are a FACEM seeking a contractor opportunity that allows you to focus on the practice of emergency medicine, with less time navigating the operational pressures of the public system.




- You are looking for a well-resourced clinical environment with strong systems, experienced colleagues, and the flexibility to structure your engagement around your professional and personal commitments.
- You are a time complete ACEM trainee either waiting for your FACEM Letter, or waiting to sit your OSCE exam and want to line something up post fellowship
