The Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Capital Works Project Manager for an initial six-month contract.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of capital works projects across an extensive property and facilities network, delivering everything from building refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades through to asset renewal and improvement initiatives.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and external contractors, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed budgets and timeframes.

The Role

Reporting into the broader property and facilities function, you will be responsible for managing multiple capital works projects from initial planning through to delivery and handover.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Manage the end-to-end delivery of capital works, refurbishment and building improvement projects.

- Oversee project planning, budgets, timelines, procurement and contractor engagement.

- Coordinate building upgrades, roof replacements, facility refurbishments and asset renewal works.

- Prepare project scopes, tender documentation and contractor evaluations.

- Manage external consultants, builders and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.

- Monitor project expenditure, manage variations and provide regular financial and progress reporting.

- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and minimise disruption during project delivery.

- Ensure projects meet relevant building compliance, safety and quality standards.





- Support capital investment planning and provide recommendations relating to project priorities and asset improvements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who has successfully delivered capital works or building-related projects within a property, facilities, construction or asset-intensive environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience managing capital works, construction, refurbishment or property improvement projects.

- Strong contractor management, procurement and contract administration experience.

- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing budgets, priorities and deadlines.

- Sound commercial and financial acumen, including an understanding of CapEx and OpEx.

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Experience managing projects from initial scoping through to completion and handover.

- An understanding of building compliance, workplace health and safety and relevant construction requirements.

- A relevant qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Property or a related discipline.

- A current driver’s licence.

Experience within aged care, healthcare, retirement living, education, facilities management or a similar property-focused workplace will be highly regarded.
