Animal Attendants (Pet Boarding) - Christmas Casuals

At Kip Lake Macquarie, our team is deeply committed to delivering exceptional care to every furry friend that walks through our doors. Christmas is our busiest time of year, and we're looking for the pick of the litter to join us as Casual Animal Attendants for the Christmas peak period.

Christmas peak period: 10 December 2026 - 3 February 2027

These are temporary casual roles to support our Christmas peak. Shifts are available between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day). Shifts will vary in line with bookings, so we're looking for people who can adapt to a variety of shifts and schedules across this period. Shifts are not guaranteed beyond the end of the peak period.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Providing food and water for pets in care
- Health checks and general animal husbandry
- Supervising groups of dogs and managing their behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety
- Providing enrichment through play and scheduled activities
- Frequent cleaning and upkeep of the facility to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety
- Building and maintaining rapport with our pet owners through feedback and transparency
- Creating and sharing photo and video updates for our pet owners
- Daily administration, such as answering enquiries by email and phone, record keeping and entering information in our booking systems

Key requirements:

- Full work rights in Australia for the peak period
- Availability across the Christmas peak period dates above, including weekends
- Availability on key peak days, including Christmas Day,



Boxing Day and Recent Year's Day
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred
- Driven, with a strong work ethic
- Able to lift, bend and be on your feet for long shifts, indoors and outdoors in all conditions (including summer heat), with pets of various sizes
- Great attention to detail
- Work well in a team environment
- Able to follow routines, policies and procedures
- Available to attend a short, lawful unpaid work trial shift (run within Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines)

These roles will finish at the end of the Christmas peak period, but you're welcome to apply for any future roles we advertise or express interest to stay on the team, subject to ongoing operational needs.
