We’re partnering with a legal tech business looking to bring on an AI Engineer to build AI into their product. A hands-on role shipping agentic systems that take real legal work off a lawyer’s desk, where accuracy and trust matter more than novelty.

The Prospect

- Design and build production AI agents that execute multi-step legal processes end to end
- Build the surrounding architecture, including RAG pipelines, tool use, orchestration and state management
- Work with legal documents at depth, covering extraction, classification, summarisation and structured output
- Design evaluation frameworks that prove output quality before anything reaches a lawyer
- Own solutions end to end, from problem definition through design, build, deployment and monitoring
- Manage cost, latency and quality trade-offs across model providers




- Work directly with legal subject matter experts to turn how lawyers actually work into something the product can do

What We’re Looking For

- Hands-on experience building and shipping production AI, not prototypes
- Agentic experience, having designed and run agents that do real work rather than demo well
- Strong across LLM patterns including RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation and model APIs
- Confident writing production Python
- Experience with cloud AI services and deploying with proper CI/CD
- Experience working in or building for the legal industry, with a working understanding of legal documents and workflows
- Able to work alongside non-technical experts and translate their process into product
