DESIGN ASSISTANT – WOMENSWEAR

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a creative and detail-oriented Design Assistant to join a dynamic womenswear team. Working closely with the Design team, you’ll play an integral role in bringing collections to life, supporting the design process from initial concept through to final product. This is a fantastic prospect for someone passionate about fashion, with a strong eye for detail, an understanding of current trends and a desire to develop their career within womenswear design.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Design team with the development of seasonal womenswear collections.
- Research fashion trends, colours, fabrics, prints and silhouettes to support the design direction.
- Create and update technical sketches, CADs and design boards.
- Assist with the preparation of tech packs, specifications and garment details.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers regarding samples, fabrications, trims and development updates.
- Track samples, manage comments and assist with fittings and garment revisions.Maintain accurate design files, range plans, fabric libraries and product documentation.
- Support the team with general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the design process.




- Collaborate with Product Development, Production and Buying teams to ensure collections meet brand expectations and timelines.

About You

- A qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in a Design Assistant role or a relevant fashion internship is advantageous.
- A genuine passion for womenswear, fashion trends and product development.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience creating CADs is highly regarded.
- An understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims and finishes.
- A proactive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to learn.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
