About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer with strong expertise in ETL/ELT development, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL and data warehousing.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust data pipelines, integrating data from multiple sources and ensuring data quality across cloud and on-premises environments.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, improving data integration processes and delivering reliable, scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, validate and load data from multiple sources.
- Build, manage and optimise data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Develop and maintain data solutions using Azure SQL, SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Work with Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Azure Blob Storage to support cloud-based data ingestion and storage.
- Design and implement data warehousing solutions, including staging layers, data marts and dimensional models.
- Support data migration and integration initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop, maintain and troubleshoot SSIS packages where required.
- Implement data quality checks, validation processes and reconciliation procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.




- Investigate and resolve pipeline failures, data inconsistencies and performance issues.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Strong hands-on experience in ETL/ELT development, including data extraction, transformation, validation and loading.
- Proven experience building and managing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Strong technical expertise in Azure SQL, SQL Server and T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures and performance optimisation.
- Experience working with Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Azure Blob Storage.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including staging, data marts and dimensional modelling.
- Experience integrating and migrating data between cloud and on-premises systems.
- Strong data quality, validation, reconciliation and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to investigate technical issues and deliver practical, scalable solutions.

Highly Desirable

- Experience developing and maintaining SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
- Experience modernising legacy ETL processes and migrating workloads to Azure.
- Exposure to enterprise data integration and cloud migration projects.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
